Not much public information exists about Sekiguchi Toshio—an intriguing gap considering his status as a multi-award-winning Sosaku Kokeshi artisan. The last known publication of his work appears in the 1994–1998 Shibukawa Exhibition Book, where he was listed with an address in Minamimachi, Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture.

Toshio's craftsmanship is marked by elegantly carved lines and a deep appreciation for natural wood textures. Yet it’s his painted works that stand out most vividly—often adorned with shimmering finishes and intricate textile-inspired motifs that evoke depth, movement, and quiet sophistication.
