Towada Lake Kotaro Takamura Poetry  Kokeshi design inspired by Otome no Zou.  The Maidens Otome no Zou  books takamura  Otome no Zou of Towadako  Maidens by the Lake in Towada-ko. The statue of naked women touching hands was cast in 1953 by the poet and sculptor Takamura Kotaro. He modeled the figures after his wife, painter, Takamura Chieko. She suffered from Schizophrenia and died in 1938.
