Welcome to my Dento-Traditional Kokeshi
Collection, these dolls are not for sale. Traditional Kokeshi
have been created in wood form since the late Edo (1603-1867)
period in Japan. There are 10 prefectures which produce
Traditional Kokeshi, with a few additional sub-strains. |

Kijiyama from Tohoku region (Akita prefecture) are composed of one piece of wood. They have very distinctive pattern of kimono & obi. Some believe they evolved from the Naruko style. (25 Images 25 Dolls) | ||||
