ANTIQUEVINTAGE WOOD JAPANESE DOLLS in SILK CLOTHING  ClothKimonoBlack  Pink Kimono Girl 2  Kokeshi wearing a bright silk pink furisode kimono. There are beautiful navy blue mums and pinkish camellia's throughout the kimono. The sleeves have rounded edges and are long, (considered a sign of youthfulness). She sports a high worn Obi on the body that is lined with a row of exquisitely made cloth camellia flowers. The back has a beautifully placed masubi (obi knot) in a deep red tone with bright accents of gold. These kimono's are usually worn at the coming of age (20 years old). Fabric is tucked and glued into grooves carved into the body form. Thanks to Jessica Costantino for helping me identify the style of this Kokeshi.

Nun Kokeshi  Catholicism was prominent at some point in Japan. The fascination with the "nun's habit" was apparent in cultural, traditional arts, as seen in this Kokeshi's design.  Sayonara Okinawa Geisha Kokeshi  This Sayonara Kokeshi is dressed in traditional Bon-Odori festival dresswear.  Sayonara Blue Kimono  Sayonara Doll  A beautifully crafted sayonara doll. The pink silk fabric covered roll of paper is wrapped securely around the body of this Kokeshi and then tied with a golden knot.
