3Okuyama, Kuraji (奥山 庫治) YOB 1934-2008 Master Okuyama, Kiyoji. The still bold colors on this vintage Kokeshi make it a beautiful piece to admire. Rokuro moyo (lathe lines) in purple and red were placed at the top and bottom. The main body has beautiful peony's with their green stems and leaves. While difficult to tell from the image, a yellow base paint has been lightly applied.
4Okuyama, Kuraji (奥山 庫治) YOB 1934 Master Okuyama Kiyoji. Maraca type with azuki beans inside the head. Lovely Dianthus Caryophyllus (fringed carnations) pattern was used to decorate this Kokeshi. Although it is a vintage piece it has retained a strong red color and a hint of the yellow base with fading green stems.
